Everything’s Blurry

This entire take was boring and derivative. I wonder why this person even bothered to write it, since they didn’t bother to say anything we haven’t already heard/read.

This is the first time women and child free people have been free to express the desire to avoid childrearing in recent history. It’s not like a Reddit thread is equal to all the past persecution of women unable to conceive. Throughout history no one was more vulnerable than a childless, single woman. Even status/whiteness/religion/[insert any perceived advantage in a society here] couldn’t protect her. Calling a child a crotch gremlin is such a small offense in comparison to, let’s say, the Salem Witch Trials.

Being an independent childless woman has been seen as a literal threat to society. Superstitions and fear have been leveraged against women throughout history, costing them their lives. The burden of producing the next generation has fallen solely on the bodies of women, despite any male shortcomings in the reproduction department. The need for a male heir was historically placed on the bodies of women, despite them having zero control over the sex of their children. A woman’s ability to live/be safe was determined by her ability to wed and reproduce.

Instead of getting so worked up over a few words, ask yourself why the words of a small group on Reddit even matters to you at all? How are their little quips and put-downs enough to inspire you, when the whole of history was not?

Parents, people with children, breeders, whatever you want to call them, do not need your help. If you really cared, you’d be more concerned with the lack of support found in modern society for the modern mother/family than a minority of people taking about hating kids.
