The Taliban just banned windows overlooking places used by women (going as far as changing building codes, and saying women cannot be seen in their own homes by neighbors) and they announced their plan to close NGOs employing women.

It’s honestly so unimaginably bad at this point—why have their restrictions on women’s rights continued to deepen so drastically?

The fact that the world is saying so little in response scares the hell out of me.
