Entertainment has long been an escape for the masses—long before television. You had gladiators, plays, and music. There are great stories being told by mouth and word, myths and legends to shape society. Art to reflect it and to send messages to those who couldn’t read. Are you telling me you run away from all forms of entertainment? That’s not really living then, is it? One shouldn’t have to deny themselves all the great pleasures of life to survive. I certainly wouldn’t argue for that being a viable solution. And I definitely wouldn’t lord it over people as a form of moral superiority.
